Role Description The Gallery Intern role at SIKAO is on-site position based in Mumbai. The intern will support day-to-day gallery operations, including assisting with exhibition setup, maintaining display areas, and ensuring the gallery is welcoming and organized. Responsibilities include engaging with visitors, answering basic inquiries about exhibitions, supporting event preparation, and coordinating with the gallery team on administrative tasks.

The intern may also help with cataloging artworks, updating inventory records, and supporting basic social media and communication efforts related to gallery activities. This role offers hands-on exposure to contemporary design, gallery management, and the business side of running a creative space.

Qualifications

• Interest in contemporary design, visual arts, or related creative fields, with a strong desire to learn about gallery operations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with visitors, artists, and team members in a professional manner.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail to support exhibition setup, inventory maintenance, and day-to-day tasks.
• Basic proficiency with office software (such as email, word processing, and spreadsheets); familiarity with social media platforms is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Mumbai, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Previous experience or coursework in art, design, cultural management, or hospitality is beneficial but not required.

Location: Cuffe Parade (5 days/week in gallery) 6 months paid internship
