Job Description
Mechanical Engineer Full Time Duties and Responsibilities Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report. Prepare the contract documents including the specifications. Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
Manage projects from design through construction. Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable. Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings. Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements Post‑secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset. Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required. 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial and/or institutional buildings.
Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection). Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC(AE)). Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete deliverables. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.
Position Details Type: Full‑time, On Site Location: Calgary, Alberta Purpose: Existing Vacancy Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. Compensation Range: $85,000 – $120,000 per annum (actual may vary based on qualifications).
