Job Description
The Head of Brand is responsible for developing, strengthening and safeguarding the organisation's brand across a network of educational institutions. The role ensures that each school effectively communicates its unique value proposition while remaining aligned with the organisation's vision, mission, values and brand positioning.
Working closely with school leadership teams, admissions and enrolment teams, and marketing stakeholders, the Head of Brand leads brand strategy, communications, parent engagement, storytelling, marketing planning and budget management. The role ensures a consistent and differentiated brand experience that supports reputation, community engagement and sustainable enrolment growth.
Brand Strategy & Development
- Lead the development and implementation of the organisation's brand strategy across the education network.
- Ensure alignment with the organisation's vision, values, educational philosophy and brand standards.
- Support schools in defining and communicating their individual positioning and strengths within the broader brand framework.
- Act as brand guardian, ensuring consistency across all communications, campaigns and touchpoints.
- Drive initiatives that enhance brand awareness, reputation and differentiation.
Communications & Parent Engagement
- Develop and oversee communication strategies across the school network.
- Define annual communication plans covering both internal and external audiences.
- Support schools in developing effective communication journeys for prospective and current families.
- Establish best practices for parent communications, ensuring consistency, transparency and engagement.
- Work closely with school leadership teams to strengthen parent experience and community engagement.
- Coordinate communication plans around key milestones, events, achievements and strategic initiatives.
- Support schools in managing sensitive communications and reputation-related matters when required.
Brand Storytelling & Content Strategy
- Develop compelling brand narratives that bring the organisation's mission, values and educational offering to life.
- Create storytelling frameworks that can be adapted and implemented across multiple educational settings.
- Identify and amplify student, alumni, staff and community success stories.
- Ensure messaging consistently reflects the unique strengths of individual schools while reinforcing the wider brand.
- Work closely with marketing teams to create impactful content across digital, social media, print and events.
Marketing Planning & Campaign Management
- Support schools in the development and execution of annual marketing plans.
- Ensure marketing activity is aligned with enrolment objectives and brand priorities.
- Coordinate brand campaigns and support local school initiatives.
- Provide guidance and best practices on campaign planning, content strategy and brand activation.
- Monitor marketing effectiveness and recommend improvements based on performance data.
Budget Management & Performance Control
- Lead annual marketing planning and budgeting processes.
- Monitor and control marketing expenditure, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Track campaign performance and marketing return on investment.
- Ensure budgets are managed effectively and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Provide regular reporting on budget utilisation and marketing performance.
Collaboration & Best Practice Sharing
- Partner with school leadership, admissions and marketing teams to align brand, communication and enrolment objectives.
- Promote collaboration across educational settings and encourage the sharing of successful initiatives.
- Identify, document and implement best practices in branding, communications and family engagement.
- Act as a subject matter expert for brand and communications across the organisation.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Brand Management, Marketing or Communications leadership roles.
- Experience managing multi-site, multi-brand or regional operations.
- Proven track record in brand development, communications and marketing planning.
- Experience managing budgets and marketing performance.
- Experience within British schools, British international schools, independent schools, or education organisations operating within the UK education framework.
- Strong understanding of the admissions journey, parent decision-making process, and enrolment marketing within an educational environment.
