Job Description

DataWorks is seeking a QC Executive to ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of print and digital publishing deliverables. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in publishing production, typesetting, or pre-media quality control, with a strong eye for detail and a thorough understanding of publishing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform final quality checks on typeset pages, print-ready PDFs, EPUBs, indexes, and artwork before client delivery.
• Verify page layout, typography, formatting, styles, tables, figures, cross-references, hyperlinks, pagination, and client specifications.
• Review publishing files to identify layout inconsistencies, formatting issues, production errors, missing elements, and visual defects.
• Validate Adobe InDesign outputs, Adobe Acrobat PDFs, and EPUB files using established QC processes and checklists.
• Verify fonts, image placement, colour consistency, page dimensions, bleeds, print specifications, and digital publishing standards.
• Review interactive elements, navigation, metadata, hyperlinks, and accessibility features in digital publications.
• Ensure compliance with publisher style guides, project specifications, quality standards, and accessibility requirements, where applicable.
• Coordinate with typesetting, design, editorial, and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrections.
• Perform final verification of corrections before project delivery.
• Maintain QC records, communicate quality observations, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Deliver high-quality outputs while managing multiple projects and meeting project deadlines.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Publishing Quality Control (QC/QA), Typesetting, Pagination, Pre-media, Print Production, or Publishing Production.
• Strong understanding of publishing workflows, typesetting, print-ready PDF validation, EPUB quality checks, and production standards.
• Hands-on experience with Adobe Acrobat and familiarity with Adobe InDesign.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify layout, formatting, and production inconsistencies.
• Good command of written English and the ability to interpret publisher style guides and client specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Word and other standard publishing tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Bonus Skills

• Experience working with multilingual publishing projects.
