Position Overview

The Proposal Engineer plays a critical role in Apeiron's global business development and bid management process.

Based in our Chennai Global Capability Centre (GCC), this role supports regional sales and business development teams worldwide by preparing high-quality techno-commercial proposals, developing optimized technical solutions, estimating project costs, coordinating with internal engineering teams and external suppliers, and ensuring competitive, compliant, and commercially attractive bid submissions.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Technical Authorities, and Business Leaders to develop innovative, technically robust, and customer-focused proposals while contributing to the continuous improvement of proposal processes, estimation methodologies, digital engineering tools, and knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities

• Proposal Development Formulate detailed techno-commercial bids in response to customer RFQs, RFPs, and tenders, ensuring absolute alignment with client specifications and company capabilities.
• Technical Solution Development: Develop and recommend technically sound, vendor-neutral engineering solutions by applying strong knowledge of industrial automation technologies, engineering principles and applicable international standards.
• Architecture: Design and recommend vendor-neutral Industrial Automation, Digital Engineering, Industrial IT, and OT architectures utilizing technologies from leading global OEMs.
• Estimation & Pricing: Build highly accurate costing models by analyzing project scopes, raw material costs, engineering labor hours, sub-vendor quotes, and commercial risk factors.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Project Management, Design Engineering, and external vendors to synthesize technical data and commercial inputs.
• Tender & Portal Management: Execute end-to-end tendering operations, including compliance documentation, meticulous cost sheet preparation, and timely uploads to electronic procurement portals.
• Proposal Customization: Tailor bidding documents to highlight unique value propositions, standardizing technical write-ups while personalizing client-centric problem-solving sections.
• Document Control & Compliance: Maintain structured, version-controlled repositories of all active, historical, and revised proposal documents alongside internal pricing databases.
• Timeline & Deadline Management: Prioritize and drive multiple concurrently active proposal lifecycles, ensuring strict adherence to submission deadlines without compromising bid quality.
• Process Optimization: Design, continuously refine, and implement standard proposal templates, automation estimation tools, and bid development best practices.
• Coordinate the orderly handover of awarded projects to the Project Execution Team by reviewing customer purchase orders, verifying contractual requirements, conducting internal kick-off meetings and ensuring complete transfer of technical, commercial and contractual information.

Experience and Required Skillset

• 3–5 years of experience in Proposal Engineering, Estimation, Presales, System Integration, or Industrial Automation.
• Experience in Industrial Automation, Electrical & Instrumentation, Industrial Networks, Digital Engineering, Industrial IT, or OT Cybersecurity will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education Qualification

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or related Engineering discipline.
