Job Description
Job Title: Team Lead – 3D Design (Events & Experiential Marketing)
Role Summary
The Team Lead – 3D Design is responsible for leading the conceptualization, visualization, and execution of spatial design solutions for live events, exhibitions, brand activations, retail experiences, and immersive environments. This role combines creative leadership with technical expertise, ensuring the delivery of innovative, production-feasible, and client-centric design solutions.
The incumbent will mentor and guide a team of 3D designers, uphold design quality standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time while meeting creative, commercial, and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership
- Lead the development of innovative 3D concepts, layouts, and spatial experiences for events, exhibitions, experiential campaigns, retail environments, and brand activations.
- Translate creative briefs into compelling visual concepts, high-quality renders, walkthroughs, and presentation materials.
- Drive design excellence by ensuring all outputs align with the client’s brand identity, campaign objectives, and experiential strategy.
- Review, critique, and approve design outputs from the team before client presentations and production.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3D designers by providing regular guidance, constructive feedback, and technical support.
- Allocate projects and manage team workloads to ensure optimum utilization and timely delivery.
- Foster a collaborative, creative, and high-performance culture within the design team.
- Identify skill gaps and facilitate learning opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Client Servicing, Production, Technical, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, client pitches, and concept development workshops.
- Ensure designs balance creativity, functionality, production feasibility, venue regulations, timelines, and budget considerations.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining consistency in quality and meeting deadlines.
Technical & Production Excellence
- Oversee the creation of detailed technical drawings, fabrication drawings, elevations, material specifications, and production-ready files.
- Ensure all designs comply with venue regulations, structural feasibility, brand guidelines, and safety standards.
- Work closely with fabrication partners and production teams to resolve technical challenges during execution.
- Provide onsite design supervision and support during installations and event build-ups whenever required.
Client & Business Support
- Present concepts and design solutions confidently during internal reviews and client presentations.
- Incorporate client feedback while preserving design integrity and project objectives.
- Support new business pitches by developing compelling visualizations and concept presentations.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, materials, and best practices in experiential design to continuously elevate the agency’s creative output.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Exhibition Design, Spatial Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in 3D design within an events, experiential marketing, exhibition, retail, or spatial design environment, including prior experience leading or mentoring a design team.
- Expert proficiency in 3ds Max (mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of SketchUp, Blender, or similar 3D modelling software.
- Advanced proficiency in rendering software such as V-Ray, Corona Renderer, Lumion, or Enscape.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software.
- Good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) for presentation enhancement.
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, lighting, structures, spatial planning, and production processes.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
