Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Primary Design Engineer with 7+ years of expertise in substation design. The role involves designing and engineering primary systems for AIS/GIS substations across transmission and distribution voltage levels. The candidate will be responsible for delivering cost-effective, technically compliant, and high-quality engineering solutions while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare primary engineering designs for AIS/GIS substations (11kVβ765kV).
- Develop substation layouts, equipment layouts, switchyard layouts, and general arrangement drawings.
- Design busbar arrangements, conductor selection, equipment placement, and clearances in accordance with applicable standards.
- Prepare equipment specifications, technical datasheets, BOQs, and material requisitions.
- Perform electrical calculations including busbar sizing, conductor sizing, earthing inputs, and equipment loading.
- Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with secondary engineering, civil, structural, procurement, and project execution teams.
- Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, IS, utility, and client standards.
- Support technical discussions with customers, consultants, and vendors.
- Provide engineering support during manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Identify design improvements to optimize cost, constructability, and project schedules.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AIS and GIS substation engineering.
- Expertise in electrical layouts, equipment selection, and switchyard design.
- Familiarity with transmission and distribution substation standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Experience with ETAP, CYME, or similar engineering software is preferred.
- Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, and IS standards.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in primary substation design.
- Experience working on EPC, utility, or consulting projects is preferred.

wWe are looking for an experienced Secondary Design Engineer with 7+ years of expertise in protection, control, and SCADA engineering for substations. The role is responsible for developing detailed secondary engineering packages for AIS/GIS substations while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and international standards
Key Responsibilitie
- sDesign protection and control systems for AIS/GIS substations
- .Prepare protection single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings
- .Develop AC/DC distribution schemes and control panel designs
- .Prepare cable schedules, cable routing drawings, terminal plans, and marshalling kiosk layouts
- .Develop relay configuration philosophies and protection logic
- .Coordinate relay settings with protection studies and system requirements
- .Prepare panel GA drawings and BOMs
- .Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications
- .Coordinate with primary engineering, civil, telecom, and SCADA teams
- .Support FAT, SAT, testing, and commissioning activities
- .Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, utility, and client engineering standards
Required Skill
- sStrong knowledge of protection and control engineering
- .Experience with numerical protection relays from ABB, Siemens, GE, Schneider, SEL, or Hitachi Energy
- .Understanding of IEC 61850, SCADA, RTUs, SAS, and communication protocols
- .Experience in relay logic, control philosophy, and interlocking schemes
- .Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering documentation
- .Familiarity with EPLAN or Engineering Base is an added advantage
- .Strong troubleshooting and coordination skills
Qualification

- .Experience working on EPC, utility, or consulting projects
Common Preferred Experience (Both Roles
- )Experience in transmission and distribution substations (11kVβ765kV)
- .Exposure to national and international utility standards
- .Experience in renewable energy evacuation substations is an advantage
- .Knowledge of EPC project execution and engineering workflows
- .Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills
- .Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering within quality, cost, and schedule commitments
