Role Description The Senior Accountant role at STM Fire is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune. The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll support.
This role will prepare and review financial statements, track project costs, monitor budgets, and ensure timely statutory and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with operations and project teams to align financial reporting with business activities and support management with financial analysis and forecasting. The position also involves implementing and improving internal controls, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate, compliant financial records.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Candidates should possess tax and compliance knowledge, including GST, TDS, statutory filings, and familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Candidates should possess financial analysis and budgeting skills, including variance analysis, cost tracking, project accounting, and forecasting.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting and ERP software, MS Excel, and data management tools for efficient and accurate financial reporting.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based industries, and familiarity with fire safety or infrastructure projects is beneficial.
