Sr. Accountant

Company Description

KIAAYO is a designer wear brand specializing in the manufacturing of premium garments for men and women. The company has an in-house workshop and retail store in Ahmedabad. In addition to its fashion business, KIAAYO also operates in the hospitality sector & has a separate vertical of the same.

Role Description

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly and annual closing activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad.

The role includes overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting budgeting and cost-control initiatives. The Senior Accountant will prepare and review financial statements, monitor inventory and production costs, and collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights for business decision-making.

The candidate will also supervise junior accounting staff, coordinate with external auditors and consultants, and contribute to process improvements and the implementation of internal controls to support the company's growth. The candidate must be capable of independently filing GST and TDS returns.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of core accounting, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end and year-end closing.
• Well-versed in independently filing GST and TDS returns.
• Experience in daily bookkeeping and accounting entries.
• Hands-on experience in bank reconciliations and preparing MIS reports.
• Proficiency in taxation, regulatory compliance, and knowledge of relevant Indian accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and inventory management in a manufacturing or apparel/retail environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and integrity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with leadership, operations, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and mentor team members, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CA or CMA will be an added advantage.
• Prior experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in the fashion, textile, or manufacturing industry.
