Stores & Dispatch Operative- Antrim

Mivan is a dynamic and progressive specialist joinery and interior fit-out contractor with a reputation for excellence and innovation. We are currently recruiting a Stores & Dispatch Operative to provide support across the Stores and Dispatch functions, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement, packing and dispatch of materials and products to meet operational and production requirements.

Main duties:

  • Maintain stock and non-stock item levels in line with production requirements.
  • Issue materials to the shop floor in line with established material requisition systems.
  • Coordinate goods-in and goods-out activities to ensure the timely and efficient movement of products.
  • Pick, pack, wrap and prepare items for dispatch, including loading vans and lorries.
  • Make pallets as required and use barcode scanners and software to label materials for site deliveries.
  • Inspect incoming goods and liaise with suppliers regarding quality issues.
  • Carry out quality checks and ensure quality standards are maintained, including the use of mobile and iPad applications.
  • Record materials and dispatch information accurately using company systems and mobile applications.
  • Operate a forklift truck and undertake other driving duties as required, including local collections and deliveries.
  • Carry out weekly vehicle checks and report any defects.
  • Maintain stores-issued tools and conduct portable appliance testing where required.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of FSC systems, records and material issue systems.
  • Assist with general stores, yard and warehouse housekeeping activities, ensuring work areas remain clean, organised and safe.
  • Support waste management activities, including loading waste timber into the biomass burner.

Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to work with minimum instruction
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on your own as and when required.
  • Experience with use of Microsoft office .
