Senior Consultant – Consumer Insight ( Retail)

Overview

As a Senior Consultant in GlobalData’s Consumer Custom Solutions Team, you will deliver bespoke retail insights and data-driven solutions to leading brands. You’ll manage projects end-to-end, coordinate cross-functional teams, and translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations. You’ll work closely with clients and junior colleagues while supporting senior leaders on methodology and QA.

• Manage defined projects and workstreams from kick-off to delivery with oversight from a senior team member
• Coordinate project teams and mentor junior colleagues
• Conduct secondary research, data analysis, market sizing and insight development
• Contribute to research approaches that meet client needs, budgets and timelines
• Monitor progress, identify risks and escalate delivery issues
• Perform initial quality checks with final approval by the senior project lead
• Participate in client meetings, provide progress updates and support final presentations
• Support the design and delivery of interviews, surveys and store audits
• Liaise with external research partners using agreed plans and methodologies
• Share knowledge and provide informal support to junior colleagues

• Relevant experience in consulting, strategic analysis and/or market research
• Experience in retail or consumer sectors or strong interest to develop expertise
• Practical experience in market sizing, data analysis and modelling
• Ability to work with large/complex datasets and document assumptions
• Analytical and structured mindset with ability to synthesize data into actionable insights
• Experience managing defined projects or workstreams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience coordinating project teams and guiding junior colleagues
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including client meetings and presenting findings
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential
• Experience with Power BI or similar data-visualisation tools is desirable
