Pay Range: $124,600.00 - $204,850.00
Position SummaryBio-Techne is a highâgrowth, fastâpaced company that manufactures consumable cartridges used in protein research and bioâpharma drug discovery & quality control. We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the manufacturing organization, driving and sustaining continuous improvement activities, delivering topâline revenue growth, improving quality, delivery performance, and managing cost.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate / mentor and implement Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Design for Manufacturability philosophies to support and sustain the manufacturing operation.
- Develop & hire a worldâclass manufacturing team to support short and longâterm business needs.
- Build on a culture of continuous improvement and BioâTechneâs EPIC Values.
- Implement best practices for the production and testing of consumables.
- Lead through influence;
collaborate effectivelywith crossâfunctional partners, including engineering, finance, HR, supply chain, other company plants, customer service, and QA teams. - Build and execute shortâterm and longâterm capacity plans for hiring and capital spending, including designing and installing automation where sensible.
- Apply ISO9001 Quality Management System standards and requirements for release of biotech products.
- Provide leadership to production personnel in process improvement and good manufacturing practices.
- Lead the production organization in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Implementation.
- Assure product and process quality, including postâcustomer delivery, by designing testing methods;
testing finished products and process capabilities;
establishing standards;
confirming manufacturing processes. - Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Analyze assembly/test procedures and methods for process quality improvement.
- Ensure efficient and accurate NPI transfers into production.
- Provide manufacturing decisionâmaking information by calculating production, labor, and material costs;
reviewing production schedules;
estimating futurerequirements. - Prepare summaries of product build cycles, yields, defects, and issues.
- Develop and evaluate manufacturing processes for design and improvement by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with internal process engineering management.
Bachelorâs degree in engineering or business. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Minimum 10 years of experience managing manufacturing operations with direct experience managing resources in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Proven ability to execute multiple priorities simultaneously using critical thinking in a fastâpaced environment.
- Proven ability to build and lead highâperforming teams in a rapidly growing business.
- Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and a demonstrated actionâoriented, resultsâdriven approach to quality.
- Commitment to improve manufacturing and quality metrics.
- Ability to work well crossâfunctionally in a highly matrixed organizational model.
- Demonstrated use of KPIs to drive organizational priorities.
- Track record of solving problems following a dataâdriven âroot cause / countermeasureâ approach.
- Great team builder who can attract, develop, and retain worldâclass talent.
- Good financial skills in budgeting, expense control, and forecasting.
- Track record of leading a continuous improvement culture.
- Proven track record of successfully introducing new technologies into manufacturing.
- Prior experience in an engineering role is a plus.
- Excellent project management, communication, and change management skills.
