About the Company We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to support a major synchronous condenser project in Wales. This is a key site-based role responsible for leading all health, safety and environmental activities across the project, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, client standards and site procedures. About the Role The successful candidate will play a central role in promoting a strong safety culture, supporting operational teams, and ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest HSE standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities Lead and manage all health, safety and environmental activities on site Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, site rules, and project HSE procedures Develop, review and implement RAMS, permits, toolbox talks and other safety documentation Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety tours, identifying risks and driving corrective actions Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe acts, ensuring reports are completed and lessons learned are communicated Support and advise site management, supervisors and subcontractors on all HSE matters Monitor contractor performance and ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times Deliver inductions, briefings and ongoing HSE training where required Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and site statistics Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the project Liaise with internal stakeholders, subcontractors and external bodies where necessary Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on HSE performance Qualifications Proven experience working as an HSE Manager on major industrial, energy, power, grid, substations or heavy construction projects Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements Previous experience working in high-risk construction or mechanical/electrical installation environments Experience managing HSE on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects is highly desirable Confident carrying out audits, inspections, incident investigations and reporting Strong communication skills with the ability to influence personnel at all levels on site Proactive, organised and able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment Required Skills NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma IOSH Membership or equivalent CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification First Aid qualification SMSTS or equivalent is advantageous Preferred Skills Strong leadership and decision-making ability Practical and hands-on approach to site safety High attention to detail Able to build credibility with site teams and contractors Committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance Pay range and compensation package Competitive rate available Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.
