Overview
In this role you lead and grow the Electrical Engineering team across Southwestern Ontario, delivering high-quality electrical design for buildings and infrastructure. You shape the practice by mentoring staff, advancing technical capability, and guiding major projects. You collaborate with national peers to align on standards while strengthening client partnerships.

Responsibilities
- Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and staff to foster a growth-oriented culture
- Plan staffing, workload, technical capability, quality, and succession readiness
- Provide senior technical leadership on projects including design guidance and problem-solving
- Oversee electrical design across markets (buildings, water, transportation, etc.)
- Guide core electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, lighting, life safety, controls)
- Collaborate with national practice and other offices to support a unified approach
- Build and strengthen client relationships, support proposals and growth initiatives
- Improve project outcomes through clear scoping, resource planning, coordination, scheduling, and risk identification
- Champion innovation and sustainability in design solutions
- Represent AECOM professionally with clients and stakeholders
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + eight (8) years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario
- Demonstrated electrical design and delivery experience in consulting or multidisciplinary environments
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff
- Holding or ability to obtain minimum Reliability Level security clearance
