For more information, visit Lowes India About the Team The Merchandising Analysts team partners with U.S. Merchants to enable data-driven category decisions that drive sales, margin, inventory productivity, and omni-channel execution excellence. The team serves as the analytical engine supporting category strategy, product line reviews, vendor negotiations, inventory optimization, product setup governance, and cross-functional issue resolution across stores and online.
This team is a critical bridge between Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Supply Chain, Stores, Online, Finance, and Vendor partners to ensure accurate execution of product, cost, promotional, and stocking strategies. Job Summary The Merchandising Analyst supports the U.S.-based Merchant team and plays a critical role in executing system-driven vendor and item setup processes, ensuring timely and accurate onboarding for both core and online-only assortments. This role requires close collaboration with U.S.
Merchants to understand category-specific online promotional calendars, strategies, and business priorities. The Merchandising Analyst partners with vendors to plan and execute item-level promotions aligned with event strategies, ensuring achievement of margin expectations and promotional depth targets. Roles & Responsibilities 1.Category & Business Insights Support Merchants in evaluating opportunities to drive incremental revenue and margin improvement.
Develop presentations and analytical insights for merchants and vendors to support strategic planning, vendor negotiations, and execution of merchandising initiatives. Provide actionable insights on category performance, vendor economics, promotional effectiveness, and assortment productivity. Deliver weekly reporting to the Merchant team, including sales, margin, and inventory productivity across category hierarchies. 2.Vendor and cross functional stakeholder management Initiate vendor and item setup activities based on inputs from the U.S.
Merchant team Conduct freight analysis to support 2P/3P channel decisions. Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve vendor or product-related issues impacting availability or performance, including tracking and closure of tickets. Support Merchants in vendor negotiations by ensuring cost justification documentation is complete, validated, and submitted to relevant stakeholders. 3.Omni Execution of Products/Items Collaborate with SSC merchandising teams to understand the online promotional calendar and event requirements.
Engage with vendors to source online promotional items and ensure alignment with event strategies, including margin and promotional depth targets. Ensure featured deals are accurately set up, vendor-funded where applicable, and meet profitability expectations. Review and validate proforma documents, vendor agreements, buying terms, and allowances for accuracy and compliance.
Partner with vendors to ensure omni-channel readiness, including product attributes, images, descriptions, and digital content. Manage and validate cost changes to ensure alignment with margin expectations and profitability guardrails. Maintain accuracy and integrity of product data, including cost, vendor agreements, and stocking information.
Years of Experience Minimum 2 years of total work experience in retail / merchandising domain. Education Qualification & Certifications Graduate/Bachelor's Degree - in business, marketing, finance, statistics or related field (B.com / BBM / MBA / Retail Operations Management). Primary Skills Experience working with merchants, vendors, e-commerce vendor and item lifecycle. management, pricing / promotion management, category management.
Understanding of retail financials (sales, margin, inventory productivity, vendor economics). Good communication and presentation skills. Strong project and process management skills.
Proficient in - Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Data analysis. Secondary Skills SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Data visualization.
