Employee Relations Director


Contract | Inside IR35 | London | Hybrid (2-3 days per week) | 6-Month Initial Contract - Inside IR35 - ยฃ800 Per day


A global market-leading organisation is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Director to join its international HR function on an interim basis.


This is a highly visible role, partnering with senior HR leaders, legal teams and business stakeholders across the UK, Ireland and wider European region. The successful individual will play a key role in managing complex employee relations matters, driving best practice and providing strategic guidance on sensitive people issues within a fast-paced, multinational environment.


The Role

-Lead complex employee relations cases and investigations from inception through to resolution.

-Provide expert guidance to HR Business Partners and senior business leaders on a broad range of ER matters.

-Partner closely with legal, compliance and risk teams to manage employment-related issues.

-Oversee high-risk and sensitive cases including grievances, disciplinary matters, discrimination complaints and workplace investigations.

-Support organisational change initiatives, restructures, acquisitions and workforce transformation programmes.

-Develop and enhance ER frameworks, governance and best-practice processes.

-Produce meaningful insights and reporting to support senior decision-making.

-Build strong relationships across multiple business functions and international markets.

-Help foster a culture built on fairness, consistency and sound employment practices.


About You


-Significant Employee Relations experience operating at Director, Head of ER or Senior ER Lead level.

-Strong employment law expertise, ideally gained within large, complex multinational organisations.

-Experience partnering with senior executives, HR leadership and legal teams.

-Strong investigative capability with a track record of managing highly sensitive and complex cases.

-Commercially minded with excellent judgement and risk assessment skills.

-Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring and business transformation activity.

-Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

-CIPD qualified and/or possessing relevant legal or HR expertise.


The Opportunity

-Day rate of up to c. ยฃ800 per day

-Inside IR35

-Hybrid working model (London)

-Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension
