Job Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of consolidated financial statements and reporting across business units. The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting plays a key leadership role in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, coordinating the month-end and year-end close process, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation of consolidated financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple business units and international locations.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement variance analyses prepared by staff accountants and financial analysts.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests, resolving inquiries, and ensuring a smooth annual audit process.
- Research and apply new accounting standards, pronouncements, and technical accounting guidance relevant to the organization's global operations.
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and business unit finance teams to ensure consistent, accurate financial data across the organization.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and close processes.
- Prepare and present financial reporting materials for senior leadership and other stakeholders as needed.
- Mentor, train, and develop staff accountants and financial reporting analysts.
- Support ad hoc projects, including system implementations, M&A integration, and special financial analyses as needed.
- Maintain a professional image when interacting with employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA required.
- Minimum of 6-8+ years of progressive accounting/financial reporting experience.
- Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four or large national firm, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and consolidated financial statement preparation.
- Experience managing or mentoring staff-level accountants.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-accounting stakeholders.
