Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking to ensure accurate financial records.

The Accountant will support budgeting and financial planning activities, assist with audits, and help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The role also includes collaborating with consulting teams to provide financial insights, preparing reports for management and clients, and contributing to process improvements that enhance financial performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF) graduates OR candidates with a postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field only.
  • Strong foundation in core accounting, including general ledger management, journal entries, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable & receivable, bank reconciliations, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and other statutory compliances in India.
  • Experience or strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, MIS reporting, and financial planning.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally Prime and/or Zoho Books, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to prepare and analyse Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate directly with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • High level of integrity, ownership, confidentiality, and accountability.
