This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. It is designed for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments or who are transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.

The placement is supervised and focuses on developing practical skills in administration or facilities management within a vibrant community centre. Participants will receive structured training, mentoring, and hands‑on experience in all aspects of the centre’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate service‑user records within the client management system, ensuring compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Input purchase invoices into Xero, correctly allocating them to the appropriate department.
  • Liaise with customers in person, over the phone, and via email to take and confirm room bookings and catering orders.
  • Use the Southill Hub social media sites to promote the centre’s services.
  • Develop professional telephone, email, and customer‑service skills.
  • Understand the operations of the Southill Hub and signpost new service users to the most suitable team member.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a professional team in a busy office environment.
