Accountant

Overview

Amicus is working closely with a FTSE-listed business in Dublin who are on the lookout for an ESG Accountant. This is a newly created position born out of the company’s rapidly expanding global sustainability initiatives and evolving regulatory landscape. Reporting directly to the Head of Internal and External Controls, this role offers a rare opportunity to step into a high-visibility function from day one, helping shape how a major market leader measures, validates, and reports its environmental and societal footprint.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will walk through the entire lifecycle of ESG data, ensuring corporate disclosures carry the same audit-ready rigor as traditional financial reporting. You will collaborate across international operations to collect, analyse, and consolidate ESG metrics, mapping them against frameworks like CSRD and EU Taxonomy. You will design and embed robust internal control frameworks to mitigate data risk, act as a key liaison for external auditors during assurance reviews, and translate complex data sets into meaningful compliance reports for board-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) who brings prior experience working with ESG or sustainability reporting metrics. Our client is highly open regarding your overall level of post-qualification experience – they are happy to look at candidates ranging from newly qualified up to 5+ years PQE, offering a salary of €60,000 to €90,000 depending entirely on what you bring to the table. Beyond your technical financial background and ESG exposure, you will need a sharp analytical mind, a proven ability to validate complex data streams, and exceptional communication skills required to manage senior stakeholders in a forward-thinking environment.
