Job Summary
West Pharmaceutical Services continues to strengthen and optimize its global finance operating model through standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement of accounting operations.
As part of the established Global Financial Centre of Excellence and reporting to, and working closely with, the Controller, the Record to Report Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports, annual financial statements, revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, and other internal or external reporting requirements.
The role ensures that financial reporting activities are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner, in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local statutory requirements. The position also supports ongoing process improvement, system optimization, and the effective use of tools such as SAP S/4HANA, BlackLine, automation, and reporting technologies to enhance service delivery across the finance function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring they are completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner and in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare, analyze, and post journals at month end.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations at month end.
- Calculate, post, and analyze monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all items are accurately captured.
- Review and reconcile inter‑company accounts.
- Prepare multi‑currency bank reconciliations.
- Prepare variance analysis.
- Support the statutory reporting process.
- Prepare transactional taxes, such as VAT.
- Support annual corporation tax compliance.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities across Record‑to‑Report processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, controls, and service delivery.
- Support automation and process excellence initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA, BlackLine, reporting tools, and other workflow solutions to reduce manual effort and improve standardization.
- Support the governed use of AI‑enabled tools within finance processes, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation, human review, data integrity, and auditability.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience
- Minimum three years of accounting experience required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Accounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment using SAP or other ERP.
- Understanding of GAAP and internal control principles.
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Strong learning capacity.
- Ability to work independently in a global environment.
- Awareness of SOPs and compliance with company safety and quality policies.
License and Certifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) required.
Travel Requirements
10%: Up to 26 business days per year.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary – exerting up to 10 lbs/4 kg of force occasionally; lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light objects.

Pay Transparency
The annual base salary range for this position is €52,712.00 – €67,088.00. Total target compensation is determined using objective and gender‑neutral criteria, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, market benchmarks, geographic location, and the scope and responsibilities of the role.
This position may be eligible for variable compensation and other incentive programs in accordance with applicable plans and local laws. Employees are eligible to participate in company benefits and total rewards programs applicable to their location and employment status.
