A leading global financial services firm is seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join a technology team supporting a critical Finance platform used across Global Banking & Markets.

Supporting daily P&L production for hundreds of users globally, you will play a key role in delivering new database capabilities, enhancing core functionality, and contributing to a number of funded strategic initiatives planned for 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys working on complex, business‑critical systems within a highly regulated enterprise environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing and enhancing Microsoft SQL Server database solutions for a core Finance application
• Delivering new functionality to support strategic business and regulatory initiatives
• Working closely with developers, business users, and stakeholders across global teams
• Contributing to application modernisation and technology upgrade projects
• Supporting Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring solutions meet internal technology, governance, and compliance standards
• Taking ownership of issues through to successful resolution

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Extensive Microsoft SQL Server development experience
• Strong database design, optimisation, and performance tuning skills
• Solid understanding of software design principles and application architecture
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• Broad understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills with experience working across geographically distributed teams
• A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Desirable:

• Investment Banking or Financial Services experience
• Exposure to Finance, P&L, Risk, or Control‑related systems
• Experience supporting Front Office or Middle Office technology functions
• Understanding of risk, compliance, and governance requirements within regulated environments
