Zurich Insurance Europe AG, is looking for a Software Developer for a 12 month Contract to build and maintain enterprise‑grade applications across the full development lifecycle. You'll work in a collaborative Agile team, writing clean C#/.NET code, designing reliable data models in SQL Server, and delivering solutions that meet real business needs.

You will be involved end‑to‑end from shaping requirements with stakeholders to deploying and supporting applications in the cloud. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, care about code quality, and like working closely with the business, this role will suit you well.

This role may be available part‑time or full time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Your Role

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET Framework (Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core), and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Build web applications and Web APIs, including RESTful and SOAP web services.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, well‑structured technical solutions.
  • Deploy and support applications on cloud platforms (AWS).
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and help improve build and deployment reliability.
  • Follow best practices in coding, code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Work within Agile delivery cycles, producing accurate estimates and delivering iteratively.
  • Keep security, performance, and resilience front of mind, building with a “secure by design” mindset.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years developing software with C# and the .NET stack (.NET MVC and/or .NET Core).
  • Strong SQL Server skills, writing queries, designing schemas, and optimizing performance.
  • Experience building web applications and Web APIs (REST and/or SOAP).
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with both on‑premises systems and cloud‑hosted applications, including involvement in migration or modernisation projects.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Workflows, Bamboo, or similar).
  • Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (e.g., insurance, finance).

Additional Information

Primary work location is Dublin but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.

If you meet the above requirements, we look forward to receiving your application.
