Senior Director, Distribution Center Operations

Overview

Senior Director, Distribution Center Operations – On-Site. Lead a large-scale distribution center focusing on safety, service, productivity, quality, and cost performance. Drive strategic and operational excellence across receiving, inventory, fulfillment, shipping, and quality, while aligning with business objectives and supply chain performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead all distribution center operations, including receiving, inventory, fulfillment, shipping, and quality.
• Execute long-term operational strategies aligned with business objectives and supply chain performance goals.
• Deliver results across safety, service, productivity, quality, and cost metrics.
• Own operating and capital budgets, driving cost optimization and profitability.
• Use data, KPIs, and analytics to support strategic decision-making and performance improvement.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives; drive process standardization, automation, and large-scale improvements.
• Lead a large, multi-layered workforce, including unionized employees; build high-performing teams focused on safety, accountability, engagement, and development.
• Partner with Labor Relations to foster positive union relationships.
• Ensure compliance with Health Canada regulations, cGMP standards, and internal policies; maintain audit readiness and operational integrity across the site.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• 7+ years leading large-scale operations and multi-level teams.
• Preferred: Experience leading unionized distribution center operations.
• Expertise in warehouse, logistics, and supply chain management.
• Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing significant operating and capital budgets.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range for this position is $151,200 – $201,600, aligned with McKesson’s pay philosophy and regulatory requirements. In addition to base pay, eligible for bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities. Benefits information is available on the company career site.
