Overview

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join a high-performing Global Finance Technology team. You will be working on a mission-critical platform responsible for the daily P&L Production process within a Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) environment.

Joining a global team, you will play a pivotal role in building new database functionality for finance control tools to support strategic 2026 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Development: Design and build new database functionality for a critical Finance control tool application.
• Modernisation: Implement new firm-wide development processes and upgrade associated toolsets to the latest technologies.
• Global Collaboration: Work within a distributed team model, interacting daily with colleagues in different time zones to support over 500 daily users.
• Standards & Compliance: Ensure all developments meet rigorous internal policies, qualitative standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Process Improvement: Drive changes in working practices to make delivery more efficient and lean.

Required Skills

• Expert MS SQL Server: Advanced development skills including performance tuning, complex stored procedures, and schema design.
• Agile/Lean Mastery: Strong understanding of Agile software development practices and associated toolsets.
• Architecture & Design: Solid OO design skills with a firm grasp of patterns and a broad technical/architectural understanding.
• Full Lifecycle Ownership: A commitment to owning issues through to completion and an appreciation for the whole project lifecycle.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of global team interaction.

Desired Skills

• Banking: Previous experience within a front or middle-office environment is highly advantageous.
• Risk Awareness: An appreciation of Operational, Compliance, Business, and Reputational risk.
