Database Developer

My client, a multinational financial services organisation is on the lookout for a SQL Developer on an initial 6 month with view for continuous extension on a hybrid basis in Dublin.

The Job:

• Core Focus: Act as an experienced SQL Developer building robust, new database functionality for a critical finance control tool to support funded 2026 initiatives.
• Team & Impact: Work within a collaborative, 11-person global development team supporting an application vital to the daily P&L (Profit and Loss) production process for over 500 daily users.
• Modernization: Drive the implementation of updated development processes and upgrade associated toolsets to the latest technologies.
• Compliance: Ensure all database designs and developments strictly align with enterprise policies, security standards, and compliance guidelines.

Have You:

• Architectural Design: Strong Object-Oriented (OO) design skills and a deep understanding of software architecture and patterns.
• Agile Practices: High proficiency with Agile and Lean software development methodologies and their supporting tools.
• Lifecycle Delivery: A broad technical understanding with a strong appreciation for the end-to-end project lifecycle and business delivery.
• Process Improvement: The drive to optimize working practices and make software delivery more efficient.
• Global Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven history of working effectively across global teams.
• Ownership Mindset: A willingness to fully own, chase, and resolve complex issues while maintaining transparent and timely communication.
• Industry Experience (Desired): Investment banking experience, particularly within front- or middle-office environments.
• Risk Awareness (Desired): A strong appreciation of operational, compliance, business, and reputational risks.
