Senior Python Developer (Django, Wagtail) – Dublin; hybrid

Job Purpose

Senior Python Django Developer with a broad range of impactful projects, helping clients achieve goals at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and implement solutions aligning with client needs, technical constraints, and sustainability.
• Explain complex technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Own projects from concept to delivery, proactively identifying risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Shape architecture, improve internal processes, and ensure high-quality standards across deliverables.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and external partners in sprint teams to deliver exceptional digital products.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years Python backend web development experience (agency or product environment preferred).
• Strong experience with Django.
• Experience with Wagtail CMS or similar CMS platforms is a plus.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs consumed by multiple third parties.
• Experience with complex system integrations across multiple external vendors.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Solid understanding of database design, optimisation, and administration.
• Strong experience with testing and quality assurance (unit, integration, etc.).
• Ability to own projects end-to-end, from planning through to delivery and support.
• Experience identifying issues early and proactively suggesting improvements to internal processes and workflows.
• Confidence to challenge assumptions, contribute to technical discussions, and collaborate with external teams and vendors.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level developers, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical leadership across projects.
• A team-player mindset with strong initiative and leadership qualities.
• Working proficiency in English.
