Senior Scrum Master

Key Responsibilities:

Agile Delivery & Team Enablement:

• Serve asScrumMasterfor one or more Data & Analytics teams (data engineering, analytics, MDM, governance).
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
• Ensure teams follow Agile best practices while pragmatically adaptingScrumfor data platform and analytics delivery.

Execution & Flow Management:

• Partner with Product Owners to maintain prioritized, well refined backlogs aligned to business and regulatory priorities.
• Track sprint progress, velocity, dependencies, and risks; drive predictable and transparent delivery.
• Identify and remove impediments that impact team productivity, delivery, or quality.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Act as a bridge between data engineers, architects, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders.
• Support coordination across dependent teams (e.g., platform, MDM, governance, BI) to manage cross team dependencies.
• Help teams communicate progress, blockers, and outcomes clearly to leadership.

Data & Analytics Context Awareness:

• Understand key data concepts including Lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, MDM, and data quality to effectively support planning and execution.
• Support delivery of initiatives aligned with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC, FINRA).

Continuous Improvement & Coaching:

• Coach teams on Agile principles, self organization, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
• Use data and metrics (velocity, cycle time, burn down/up) to improve team performance and delivery outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as aScrumMaster, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role, with at least 3+ years supporting Data, Analytics, or Engineering teams.
• Strong command ofScrumand Agile methodologies, with practical experience scaling Agile in complex environments.
• Experience supporting data engineering, analytics, BI, or platform teams (not just application development).
• Solid understanding of data delivery lifecycles, including ETL/ELT, data modeling, testing, and release management.
• Experience working with Product Owners on backlog management, story refinement, and prioritization.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify delivery risks, manage dependencies, and drive resolution proactively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Financial Services or Wealth Management is preferred
• Familiarity with Azure-based data platforms, Databricks, Lakehouse architectures, or MDM initiatives.
• Experience supporting teams delivering regulatory, compliance, or governance driven data products.
• ScrumMastercertification (CSM, PSM I/II, or SAFeScrumMaster).
• Exposure to Agile at scale (SAFe, LeSS, Spotify model, or similar).
