Job Description

Are you a data analyst who has worked with large and complex datasets to inform policy and practice? Are you looking to take a proactive role, where you can lead on developing innovative approaches to how data and analysis is used to improve health in Wales? In this role you will work collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners to lead the development of innovative analytical approaches and projects.

You will lead work programmes which support colleagues across the organisation to use data and analysis for prioritisation, policy modelling, and monitoring and evaluating impact. You will also contribute to analysis to understand recent trends in the health of Wales, including developing and communicating outputs to senior decision-makers. As a senior analyst, your role will be wide‑ranging and demand a broad set of skills.

You will lead important projects, working proactively and independently to deliver high‑quality outputs. You will engage and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, negotiating priorities and translating analytical insights into meaningful, actionable messages. You will apply your technical expertise and communication skills to the development of quality‑assured analysis projects that meet our users’ needs.

Projects you may contribute to include analysis to understand recent trends in healthy life expectancy in Wales, and modelling of policies to improve mental health such as social prescribing. Responsibilities Lead the development of innovative analytical approaches and projects. Lead work programmes to support use of data and analysis for prioritisation, policy modelling, monitoring and evaluation.

Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate priorities and translate insights into actionable messages. Deliver high‑quality outputs and quality‑assured analysis projects. Analyse recent trends in health outcomes and model policies, e.g., social prescribing.

Qualifications Experience working with large and complex datasets, preferably public health data. Strong technical expertise and communication skills. Ability to work proactively and independently to deliver high‑quality outputs.

Good working knowledge of Welsh is desirable; English language proficiency is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
