Senior Medical Coder-SDS

SDS Coder: We are hiring experienced, certified Senior Same Day Surgery Medical Coders with extensive knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, units from the medical record documents and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: ⦁ A minimum of the last 5+ years’ experience required coding medical records for Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Specialties which must include Orthopedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Spine, Oral, etc. ⦁ Ability to assign ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedure codes correctly and completely. ⦁ Requires advanced technical knowledge in specific inpatient and outpatient surgical and medical specialties as assigned. ⦁ Extensive knowledge of medical terminology. ⦁ Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations. ⦁ Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool. ⦁ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and a variety of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. ⦁ Excellent oral and written communication skills. ⦁ Have a positive, respectful attitude. Minimum Requirements: · Education: Science Graduate or Postgraduate. · Credentials: Must possess current AHIMA/ AAPC certificate(s). · Communication: Possess outstanding verbal and written proficiency in English. · Work location: Ready to work from the office.
