Senior Accountant (Management Accounting)

Strategic Staffing Solutions's customer is a global bank payment company providing real-time payment and debt & collection solutions to various businesses, from start-ups to household names in the UK, US, and Europe.

Since their Financial Control team is growing, they are seeking a Senior Accountant (Management Accounting) to perform month-end close, manage accruals, prepayments, and payroll, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and play a key role in the delivery of audits.

What you will do:

• Prepare monthly journals such as accruals, prepayments, leases, and payroll across all entities.
• Collaborate with other teams, including AP, tax, payroll, and management reporting, ensuring smooth end-to-end financial processes.
• Own key balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are completed monthly and any variances are resolved on a timely basis.
• Provide P&L variance analysis and commentary for key cost areas.
• Assist with annual audits in preparation and provide the requested documents.
• Prepare VAT returns.
• Support the Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller as required.

What you will need:

• ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or nearly qualified, with several years of industry experience
• Proven experience in a management accountant role
• Intermediate Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Strong attention to detail with good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts
• Experience with multi-currency balance sheet reconciliations
• Ability to produce accurate work and meet reporting deadlines consistently
• Knowledge of NetSuite or similar accounting systems
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
