Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Controls Specialist to support the successful delivery of complex, high-value capital programmes across sectors including energy, utilities, transport, telecoms, healthcare, housing, and water infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project controls activities across the full project lifecycle, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with governance, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role combines technical project controls expertise with strong stakeholder management and programme delivery capability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project controls frameworks covering scope, cost, schedule, risk, and performance management.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed project schedules, including critical path analysis and resource planning.
  • Monitoring project budgets, forecasting costs, analysing variances, and supporting financial reporting.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating programme risks and delivery issues.
  • Supporting governance processes and delivering clear reporting to senior stakeholders and programme leadership teams.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive successful programme outcomes.
  • Supporting bid preparation, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to the development of high-performing project controls capability.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project controls, programme management, or infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or capital projects.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability.
  • Experience using project planning and controls tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure delivery best practice, governance, and construction project lifecycles.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
