Your new company You’ll be joining a growing Canadian engineering consultancy known for its work in complex, mission‑critical environments. Your new role This position is focused on mechanical systems for mission‑critical facilities, with an initial emphasis on site involvement for active data centre projects in the Calgary area. Early on, you will play a key role in site supervision and technical support, ensuring mechanical designs are executed correctly and meet demanding performance standards. As the local operation develops, your role can expand into deeper technical leadership, mentoring, and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include: Reviewing mechanical designs and construction documentation Providing site supervision and technical oversight during construction Supporting HVAC, cooling, plumbing, fuel, and control systems for critical facilities Collaborating with electrical and multidisciplinary teams on integrated solutions Verifying compliance with codes, client standards, and mission‑critical requirements Addressing complex technical issues related to airflow, redundancy, and resilience Supporting future project delivery as the Calgary team grows What you'll need to succeed 10+ years of experience in mechanical building systems, with Direct mission‑critical experience is mandatory. Data centres are strongly preferred, but hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, clean rooms, or similar critical environments are acceptable. P.Eng designation preferred, but senior technologists or technicians with strong field experience will be considered.
Strong background in HVAC, cooling systems, plumbing, and controls (This is not a metals or industrial piping role) Proven ability to work in environments with strict performance and reliability standards High attention to detail and comfort working with evolving technical standards Willingness to spend multiple days on site during active construction Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style Canadian experience is required What you'll get in return A rare opportunity to help establish and shape Calgary engineering presence.
