Your Job Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Market Analyst to support crude oil trading and commercial decision‑making through robust fundamental modeling, market intelligence, and actionable insights. This role maintains and enhances Canadian and North American supply/demand models, synthesizes macro drivers, partners with internal stakeholders across the enterprise, and helps translate analysis into executable trading plans. This position also contributes to strong data management practices to ensure reliable inputs into analytics and models. What You Will Do Build, maintain, and enhance Canadian and North American crude oil supply/demand and other fundamental models to support trading, and refinery supply. Continuously improve understanding of pipeline flows/incentives and market dynamics and incorporate learnings into forecasts and scenarios. Monitor macro and regional fundamentals, identify key market drivers, and communicate implications to the trading team in a clear and timely manner. Develop actionable insights and, when appropriate, help formulate executable trading strategies. Collaborate with trading and commercial colleagues across the enterprise to align views and strengthen overall market perspective. Cultivate external industry relationships and leverage third party data sources to deepen market intelligence.
Help ensure the integrity, timeliness, and consistency of data platforms and downstream models. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience in an analytical or quantitative role with the ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations Experience communicating effectively with trading/commercial stakeholders and collaborating across teams Experience working with data quality, definitions, and process improvementsThis role is not eligible for work permit sponsorship What Will Put You Ahead 2+ years of experience in the crude oil market Knowledge of North American crude oil markets, including Canadian fundamentals and pipeline/transport dynamics Familiarity with refinery supply and operations and how crude selection impacts refinery economics Experience working with enterprise data platforms (data lakes/warehouses) and partnering with IT/data engineering teams Experience with Python or R (for data analysis & modeling) and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) Additionally, everyone has individual work and personal needs.
