At launch, it will offer six programmes: four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Library Manager to establish and lead the Library and Learning Resources function at our new campus. This role is essential to building a modern, student-centric, digitally enabled academic library that supports teaching, learning, and research at international standards.
Key Responsibilities Library Operations & Management Establish and oversee the full operations of the campus library, including planning, budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation. Develop and implement library policies, procedures, and service standards aligned with global best practices. Manage physical and digital collections, ensuring access to high‑quality academic resources that support all programmes.
Digital Library & Systems Develop a robust digital library strategy including e-resources, online databases, and learning technologies. Manage library management systems (LMS), discovery tools, and digital access platforms. Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration of library technologies.
Academic Support & Research Services Provide research support services for students and faculty, including information literacy programmes, workshops, and training. Partner with academic departments to understand curriculum needs and ensure relevant resources. Support faculty in accessing scholarly resources, citation tools, and research databases.
Student Experience & Engagement Create an inclusive, student-friendly environment that promotes learning and academic success. Develop library outreach initiatives, events, and orientation sessions. Address student and faculty queries with a service‑first mindset.
Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with Indian regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE as applicable) and University of Aberdeen policies. Maintain records, audits, and reporting standards for accreditation processes. Ensure proper licensing, copyright, and content usage practices.
Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree in library and information science (M.L.I.Sc.), Information Management, or a related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience managing academic libraries, preferably within higher education. Required Skills Library Systems Expertise: Proficiency with LMS platforms, digital repositories, and academic databases.
Information Literacy & Research Support: Ability to guide students and faculty in academic research and database navigation. Technology Orientation: Comfort with digital learning tools, online resource platforms, and emerging ed‑tech trends. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with academic and administrative stakeholders.
Organizational Ability: Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple responsibilities. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse resource usage and make data-driven decisions. Team Leadership: Experience guiding and developing library staff.
