Manager, Sponsorships & Exhibits
Mobile Healthcare Association
Job Description
About MHA
The Mobile Healthcare Association is a national nonprofit membership organization advancing mobile healthcare and the people and programs that bring care directly to communities. Our members include hospitals and health systems, federally qualified health centers, nonprofit organizations, public-health agencies, universities and other organizations using mobile models to improve access and outcomes.
MHA is mission-driven, member-centered and entering a period of thoughtful growth. We are strengthening the value we provide to members while building sustainable revenue that supports the Association and advances the field.
The Role
MHA is seeking a practical, relationship-oriented sales professional with direct experience selling conference exhibit space and developing conference sponsorships, ideally within a nonprofit membership organization or professional association.
This is a hands-on, transactional individual-contributor role. The Manager personally prospects, follows up, sells, prepares proposals and agreements, maintains the pipeline, supports invoicing, manages sponsor and exhibitor relationships, coordinates fulfillment and drives renewal. The role owns the commercial process from first outreach through post-conference follow-up.
This is not an event-planning, conference-logistics or marketing position. It is also not a senior corporate-partnership or enterprise-sales leadership role. Success requires someone who enjoys both selling and the detailed operational work that ensures every prospect, client commitment and revenue opportunity is managed well.
Base salary: $65,000โ$75,000, depending on directly relevant experience. This is a hands-on individual-contributor position for someone who enjoys personally selling conference exhibit space and sponsorships, developing accounts, and managing the details from prospecting through renewal.
Primary Responsibilities
Conference Sponsorship & Exhibit Sales
- Own sales of exhibit-hall booths, vehicle-display space, conference sponsorships and related commercial opportunities for the MHA Annual Conference.
- Prospect consistently through targeted outreach, referrals, research, prior conference relationships and disciplined follow-up.
- Build relationships with organizations that serve or support mobile healthcare and understand their conference objectives, audiences and business needs.
- Present available opportunities clearly, recommend appropriate packages and develop customized proposals when approved.
- Manage the full sales cycle: qualification, discovery, proposal, follow-up, negotiation within established parameters, agreement, invoicing handoff, fulfillment, stewardship and renewal.
- Carry and achieve defined sponsorship and exhibit revenue targets.
- Maintain a strong renewal strategy while expanding MHA's base of qualified sponsors and exhibitors.
- Use the conference as an active selling and relationship-management environment, including sponsor stewardship, prospect meetings and renewal conversations.
Sales Operations & Client Management
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records for every prospect and client, including stage, contact history, proposal status, expected revenue, probability, next action and close date.
- Manage sponsorship and exhibit inventory so opportunities are priced, promised and fulfilled accurately.
- Prepare routine proposals, agreements, invoices and supporting materials using approved templates and processes.
- Produce regular pipeline reports and forecasts that give the CEO clear visibility into progress, risks and decisions needed.
- Track contracts, invoicing, payment status, benefits and deliverables in coordination with finance and conference colleagues.
- Provide responsive, thoughtful client service before, during and after the conference.
- Document partner feedback and use it to improve future packages, pricing, prospecting and renewal strategy.
- Build repeatable workflows so conference revenue activity does not depend on informal knowledge or individual memory.
Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with conference, communications, membership, programs and finance staff to ensure sponsor and exhibitor commitments are feasible and delivered accurately.
- Escalate high-value, unusual or strategic opportunities to the CEO while continuing to own the operating follow-through.
- Support related corporate-account activity through strong records, meeting preparation and follow-up, while remaining primarily accountable for conference sponsorships and exhibits.
- Represent MHA's mission and protect member trust in every commercial relationship.
Measures of Success
- Achievement of annual exhibit and conference-sponsorship revenue targets.
- Growth in qualified prospects and new sponsor/exhibitor accounts.
- Strong sponsor and exhibitor retention and timely renewal activity.
- A current, credible pipeline and increasingly reliable forecasts.
- Timely proposals, agreements, invoice handoffs, collections follow-up and benefit fulfillment.
- A responsive and well-managed sponsor/exhibitor experience.
- Clear, repeatable sales and client-management processes.
Qualifications
Required
- At least three years of direct experience personally selling conference exhibit space, conference sponsorships or both.
- Demonstrated responsibility for a sales pipeline and defined revenue target.
- Experience managing the sales process from prospecting and outreach through proposal, agreement, fulfillment and renewal.
- Experience working in or closely with a nonprofit membership organization, professional association or similarly mission-driven organization.
- Strong CRM discipline and comfort performing detailed sales-administration and client-service work personally.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, follow-through and attention to detail across multiple prospects, deadlines and deliverables.
- Comfort working independently as an individual contributor in a remote environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Annual Conference and selected meetings.
Preferred
- Experience selling exhibits and sponsorships for a healthcare association, professional society or other national membership organization.
- Relationships within healthcare, medical technology, mobile services, vehicle manufacturing/upfitting or related sectors.
- Experience with sponsor fulfillment, inventory management, contracts, invoicing coordination and post-event renewal.
- Experience improving a CRM, pipeline cadence or repeatable conference-sales process.
Who Will Thrive in this Role
You are motivated by mission and enjoy helping a membership organization grow through thoughtful, ethical commercial relationships. You like selling, but you also take pride in accurate records, responsive client service and closing every operational loop. You are comfortable carrying a target without needing to manage a team or own enterprise strategy.
You understand the difference between selling an exhibit or sponsorship and producing an event. You can collaborate effectively with conference and marketing colleagues while remaining personally accountable for prospecting, sales, pipeline movement, sponsor service and renewal.
Work Environment
MHA is a remote organization & provides a company-owned computer, benefits & remote-work support. Travel is expected for the Annual Conference and selected meetings or industry events.
How to Apply
Please submit a resume and brief cover letter describing your direct conference sponsorship and exhibit-sales experience, the revenue goals or portfolio you personally managed, and why working for a nonprofit membership organization appeals to you.
The Mobile Healthcare Association is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences and encourage qualified candidates to apply.
