Host

Pay: $17/hour + 1 point in the nightly tip pool
Typical Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday evenings, approximately 5pm–10pm
Additional Shifts: Occasional Monday/Friday evenings + daytime private events

Availability Requirement

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening availability is required. These will be the primary shifts for this position, particularly to start.

Please do not apply if you are not regularly available Tuesday–Thursday evenings.

Flexibility for occasional Monday/Friday shifts and daytime private events is strongly preferred.

About Highball LTD

Highball LTD is an intimate cocktail lounge from the team behind PDT (Please Don’t Tell), Mixteca, and Kees. Located on the 11th floor near Grand Central, the space draws inspiration from classic cocktails and the golden age of train travel.

The Role

We’re looking for someone bubbly, outgoing, polished, and naturally welcoming who can help set the right vibe from the moment guests arrive.

This is more than a traditional host position. You’ll greet and seat guests, manage reservations, keep an eye on the flow and energy of the lounge, and jump in to support the service team when needed.

Attention to detail is extremely important. We’re a small team in an intimate space, so noticing the little things — a guest who needs attention, a table that needs resetting, something out of place, or a shift in the energy of the room — makes a big difference.

What You'll Do

• Create a warm, upbeat arrival and departure experience
• Manage reservations, seating, and the host stand
• Help maintain the vibe, appearance, and flow of the lounge
• Reset tables and keep guest areas polished and organized
• Support servers, bartenders, and management as needed
• Assist with setup and breakdown for private events
• Help with occasional event prep, organization, and operational tasks

• Extremely attentive to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Proactive — you notice what needs to be done without always being asked
• Organized and able to multitask
• Comfortable working as part of a small, hands-on team
• Experienced in hospitality preferred; Resy experience is a plus
