Financial Reporting Accountant – UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic

Overview of role

UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is recruiting a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Finance Department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, managing month‑end close processes and supporting finance initiatives.
• Complete month‑end close, ensuring accuracy and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Support the preparation and delivery of annual statutory financial statements.
• Maintain accruals and pre‑payments schedules.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and perform depreciation calculations.
• Perform stock‑take checks and review monthly inventory adjustments.
• Prepare and post manual journals to the general ledger.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with period‑end deadlines.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accuracy of general ledger inputs.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial control.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of Irish GAAP.
• Strong systems and data capability (advantageous).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience in healthcare preferred.
• Flexible, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
