AWA Technology Services is a key division of the ARA Technologies Group, specialising in onsite ICT support, deployment, remediation, and field services for major OEMs, system integrators, government, and enterprise customers across Australia. We manage large-scale national service delivery contracts supported by a dedicated workforce of field technicians, project teams, and technical support personnel.

The Role

As an IT Field Technician with AWA Technology Services, you will be responsible for delivering onsite technical support, installations, maintenance, and remediation services across a wide range of customer environments throughout metropolitan WA and surrounds. This is a field‑based role suited to someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, travelling between customer sites, and solving real‑world IT and infrastructure issues independently. You will work across desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment, payment systems, digital signage, and associated peripheral technologies.

The role includes a mobile phone, fully maintained company vehicle for business use, including a fuel card and e‑tag, and provides exposure to a broad range of technologies, customers, and environments.

Key Responsibilities

Field Service & Technical Support

  • Attend customer sites to perform onsite technical support, break‑fix, and remediation activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral faults across a broad range of ICT equipment.
  • Deliver high‑quality onsite customer support while always maintaining professionalism.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to internal support teams where required.
  • May be required to work on Elevated Work Platforms (EWP’s).

Installations & Deployments

  • Perform installations, moves, adds, and changes for ICT equipment and associated infrastructure.
  • Complete desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral deployments across customer environments.
  • Carry out PC and laptop imaging, rebuilds, hardware replacements, and configuration activities.
  • Support rollout and project‑based deployment activities as required.

Hardware & Peripheral Support

  • Troubleshoot and support desktops, laptops, printers, payment devices, networking equipment, and associated peripherals.
  • Replace faulty hardware components and complete onsite repairs where applicable.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment health checks where required.

Customer & Service Delivery

  • Work closely with Service Co‑Ordinateors and Project teams to ensure efficient job completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain clear and accurate job notes, service records, and documentation using a mobile‑based app.
  • Manage workload effectively while meeting customer expectations and service delivery targets.

Compliance & Workplace Safety

  • Follow customer site procedures, operational processes, and workplace safety requirements always.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards and quality expectations.

What you bring

  • Field Service Experience: Demonstrated hands‑on experience working across onsite customer environments performing technical support, installations, break‑fix, and remediation activities.
  • Technical Troubleshooting Skills: Strong diagnostic ability across desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and associated ICT equipment.
  • Hardware Experience: Practical experience with hardware replacements, PC rebuilds, imaging, component swaps, and peripheral troubleshooting.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of basic networking concepts including connectivity troubleshooting, switches, routers, IP configuration, and peripheral network devices.
  • Customer Service Focus: Professional and customer‑focused approach to onsite support, communicating clearly with both technical and non‑technical users.
  • Process Orientation: Follow operational procedures, complete documentation thoroughly, and understand the importance of accurate service records and job updates.
  • Time & Workload Management: Comfortable managing multiple service calls, changing priorities, and travelling between sites while maintaining quality and meeting service expectations.
  • Project & Deployment Exposure: Experience supporting rollout projects, device deployments, relocations, or technology refresh activities.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable learning new technologies, systems, and customer environments quickly while maintaining a practical hands‑on approach.
  • Communication: Clear and reliable for customer interactions, job notes, escalation updates, and working effectively within a broader service delivery team.
  • Licences & Clearances: Current Australian Driver’s Licence with the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance; Australian citizenship highly regarded for security clearance requirements.
