About the role\n

As a Department Manager at Bunnings, you will be responsible for the ongoing daily operations, sales and high-volume stock management within your specialist area. You will work closely with fellow Department Managers across Service, Inside the Home, Builders and Lifestyles & Garden while reporting directly to your Operations Manager and Complex Manager. Your team of 20+ members will be efficient, organized and the go-to for our customers, driving Service and Operations within your department through training, development and best customer experience.

Responsibilities\n

• Lead a team of 20+ individuals to maintain an engaged and safe work environment
\n
• Perform duty manager responsibilities, including opening and closing the store across weekdays and weekends
\n
• Build team capability on best experience, safety culture and compliance through engagement, performance management and recognition
\n
• Roster and plan strategically to deliver on the service promise
\n
• Drive department sales through strong merchandising and monitoring of key metrics
\n
• Translate customer feedback to improve the end-to-end customer experience
\n
• Oversee department stock accuracy, including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention processes
\n

Qualifications\n

\n
• Highly driven individual with strong leadership and influencing skills
\n
• Previous experience leading teams in the retail industry or a large, high-volume customer-focused organisation
\n
• Ability to develop and maintain a safe and secure environment, role‑modeling safety leadership and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
\n
• Confident leader experienced in opening and closing the store and supporting smooth trade across weekdays and weekends
\n
• Experience in opening and closing the store and supporting smooth trade across weekdays and weekends

• Capability building through clear expectations, performance conversations and recognition
\n
• Deliver on the service promise through effective rostering, planning and readiness for customers
\n
• Strong retail fundamentals, including merchandising excellence, sales performance, stock accuracy, availability and loss prevention
