Overview of the Role

The Database Engineer will drive the design, optimization, and maintenance of high-performance database systems, focusing on query engine performance, database architecture, and scalable data infrastructure solutions across complex distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining relational and non-relational database systems.

- Optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for high performance.

- Analyzing and improving database internals and query engines.

- Monitoring and tuning database performance, ensuring scalability and reliability.

- Collaborating with application and backend teams to design data models aligned with system requirements.

- Developing and maintaining backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.

- Evaluating and integrating new database technologies and tools to enhance system performance.

- Mentoring and guiding team members on best practices in database design and optimization.

Requirements:

- Experience: 4+ years with databases, SQL optimization, and query engine tuning

- Architecture: Strong background in software architecture design

- Security: Strong understanding of system security

- Performance: In-depth knowledge of memory management and performance optimization

- Scalability: Experience in designing distributed and scalable solutions, particularly in cloud environments

- Database Skills: Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases

- Technology Selection: Ability to choose between different architectures/technologies

- DevOps: Expert in managing CI/CD pipelines

- Language: Advanced level of English
