Job Description

Company Overview

Our client is a high-performing ASX-listed business that has recently delivered significant growth and is entering an exciting new phase of its journey. With operations across multiple locations and strong domestic and international market exposure, the organisation continues to invest in innovation, transformation and long-term growth.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a first mover from Big 4 or Mid-Tier who is looking to apply their technical foundations in a commercial environment and gain visibility across all areas of a complex and evolving business.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role offers the ideal first industry move for an ambitious Chartered Accountant looking to accelerate their career.

You'll move beyond statutory reporting and audit exposure, gaining hands-on experience across management reporting, treasury, cash flow management, forecasting, business partnering and commercial analysis. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you'll develop a genuine understanding of how finance influences operational and strategic decision-making.

This is a highly visible role that will provide the breadth of exposure and commercial acumen difficult to obtain within professional practice.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management reports, analysis and executive commentary.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes.
  • Assist with treasury activities, foreign currency transactions and hedge accounting.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and group consolidation reporting.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to deliver financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Assist with lease accounting, compliance reporting and BAS preparation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate reporting and drive efficiencies.
  • Contribute to strategic projects, business improvement initiatives and transformation programs.

The Candidate

  • CA qualified (or nearing completion) with experience gained in Big 4 or Mid-Tier Chartered firms.
  • Background in Audit, Business Services, Advisory or a related discipline.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a passion for analysing and interpreting financial data.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders.
  • Commercially curious and eager to understand how businesses operate beyond the numbers.
  • A proactive mindset and desire to build a long-term career within industry.
  • Experience working with complex clients, listed entities or large private groups will be highly regarded.

Benefits

  • $110,000 - $120,000 + Super within a growing ASX-listed organisation.
  • Make your first move into industry and fast-track your commercial development through exposure to business partnering, forecasting and strategic finance.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and gain visibility across key business initiatives, transformation projects and decision-making processes.
