Business Services Accountant / Senior Accountant

This is a hands‑on accounting role working with a diverse client portfolio, with a balance of work from home and collaborative team connection days, and a 9‑day fortnight with no salary reduction.

About this role

Our Private Enterprise team is looking for a Business Services Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our vibrant, friendly Brisbane office.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with clients in meeting their accounting and tax compliance requirements, including preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns.
• Build collaborative relationships with a broad range of clients, from SMEs to large companies, on a foundation of trust and competency.
• Assist with accounting and tax advisory work that supports our clients’ business.
• Provide developmental support to other team members through coaching and mentoring opportunities as required.

Skills and experience

• Qualification(s) and/or professional accreditation(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business/Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s).
• Have commenced (or planning to commence) CA qualification.
• Significant professional experience in business and tax advisory within a chartered accounting setting.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a desire to go ‘above and beyond’ to provide an exceptional client experience.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a deadline‑driven environment.
• Experience in the use of Xero accounting software will be highly regarded.
