About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong SQL expertise and Insurance Data Warehouse experience to bridge the gap between business and technology. This role is critical in translating complex business requirements into scalable data solutions, ensuring data quality, and delivering actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and metrics that drive business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Stakeholder Management

• Analyze and decompose complex problem statements into clearly defined, actionable requirements
• Gather, analyze, define, and document business and technical requirements, communicating effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Act as a liaison between Business and Technology teams, applying technical and analytical skills to enhance or implement Data Warehouse processes
• Collaborate confidently with IT and business stakeholders, as well as senior and junior team members

Data Warehousing & Process Improvement

• Facilitate and modernize data ingestion and consumption processes
• Identify opportunities to improve existing data quality
• Identify business challenges and initiate process improvement projects
• Identify and implement automation opportunities across deliverables
• Create Business Flow/Data Flow diagrams and Source-to-Target mappings

Data Analysis & Validation

• Validate data and test applications against business requirements, functionality, and usability standards
• Perform complex analysis of large datasets and conduct thorough data validation
• Gather and validate datasets across multiple data sources
• Provide analyses of large datasets to support data-driven business decisions

Reporting, Metrics & Insights

• Define and deliver metrics, reports, dashboards, and data warehousing solutions to track business objectives
• Define KPIs to track key business processes
• Identify and implement key insights from data analysis
• Present analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualizations (data maps, Tableau, etc.)
• Collaborate with various business groups to build scalable processes and metrics

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Have

• Advanced/complex SQL writing experience — non-negotiable requirement
• Experience with Insurance Data Warehouse systems, data structures, and processes
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Logical, efficient, and detail-oriented approach to work
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and act on it
• Highly self-motivated, directed, and able to prioritize effectively
• Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile processes
