Business Analyst (Houston)

Overview We are seeking a Business Analyst with direct natural gas experience to support the implementation and rollout of an internally built natural gas accounting system across multiple assets. This role requires strong requirements‑gathering skills, exceptional documentation abilities, and the confidence to independently drive conversations with both business and IT stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-off management structure, collaborates effectively with internal teams, and brings a deep understanding of natural gas operations and accounting workflows.

Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for natural gas accounting applications and related workflows. Partner closely with internal business stakeholders and IT teams to support system implementation across multiple assets. Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, process flows, and detailed documentation.

Create and manage Jira tickets, including user stories, test cases, UAT results, and defect tracking. Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system functionality aligns with documented requirements. Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, issue resolution, and successful project delivery.

Track, monitor, and report on project progress, risks, and outstanding issues. Utilize MS Office tools (Word, Excel) for documentation, reporting, and analysis. Required Qualifications Natural gas industry experience is mandatory Proven Business Analyst experience with strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Experience working with internal business and IT teams in a collaborative environment. Jira experience preferred (UAT, test cases, defect tracking). Demonstrated ability to work independently, drive discussions, and manage deliverables with minimal oversight.

Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
