Accountant

BMO Business Centre is seeking experienced Accountants to join our team at our Dalby office on a full-time or permanent part-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive accounting and taxation support to our diverse client base of regional businesses, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations whilst delivering strategic financial advice. This position is integral to our business operations and plays a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of service that our clients expect from us.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and accounting records for individual and business clients
• Advising clients on taxation matters, including income tax planning, deductions and compliance requirements
• Conducting tax reconciliations and liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on client matters
• Identifying tax minimisation opportunities and providing strategic recommendations to clients
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files and documentation in accordance with professional standards
• Collaborating with management team and contributing to the professional development of the team
• Ensuring all work adheres to accounting standards and professional ethical requirements

What we're looking for

• A recognised accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent professional credential)
• Proven experience in taxation accounting, with a solid understanding of Australian tax law and ATO requirements
• Minimum 3-4 years of taxation accounting experience is required
• Proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software is desired
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex tax and accounting concepts clearly to clients
• The ability to work independently whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues
• Sound time management skills and the capacity to prioritise multiple client engagements
• A commitment to professional development and staying current with changes in tax legislation
