Our client is a well-established organization seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across multiple provinces and support a large hourly workforce.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior payroll professional looking to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on in payroll processing. About the Opportunity Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-provincial workforce. This role combines day-to-day payroll execution with process improvement, stakeholder support, and payroll compliance.
The successful candidate will work closely with finance, operations, HR, and field leadership while helping drive efficiencies and improvements across payroll processes. Key Responsibilities Oversee and process payroll for approximately 400โ450 employees across multiple provinces. Manage complex payroll environments including unionized and non-unionized employee groups.
Interpret and administer multiple collective agreements. Ensure payroll compliance with federal and provincial legislation. Review payroll data, time records, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy.
Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues. Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, year-end activities, and audits. Participate in benefits-related reviews, recommendations, and process improvements.
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced payroll controls. Provide guidance and support to payroll team members and operational leaders. What We're Looking For 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including experience in complex payroll environments.
Strong experience processing payroll for hourly and unionized workforces. Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements. Multi-provincial payroll experience preferred.
Hands-on payroll expertise with the ability to manage end-to-end payroll processing. Strong understanding of payroll legislation, deductions, remittances, and compliance requirements. PCP designation is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Process improvement mindset with an interest in automation and operational efficiencies.
