Job Description
Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operational objectives. They oversee all aspects of operations at the site, managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Responsibilities Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed the business plan. Be responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either inbound or outbound operations. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and that of their departments.
Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and incorporating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and across the network. Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr.
Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, and provide needed support for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each. Perform regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
Walk frequently in the FC and surrounding area; the facility covers over a quarter mile in length. Stand or walk an average of 5 miles daily. Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated and not air‑conditioned.
Access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways) safely and without limitation. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques. Preferred Qualifications Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation. Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and an MBA preferred.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications and location.
