General Manager

General Manager The General Manager leads the vision and business strategies to achieve sales, productivity and profitability for two retail store locations. The GM directs and manages all aspects of each location, including customer engagement, operational execution, people management and merchandising presentation. Responsibilities People Management: Develop effective teams, lead through change, communicate professionally, grow leaders, foster a positive work environment, recognize performance, build a talent pipeline, train and coach store teams, ensure safety compliance, set clear expectations, and address performance gaps.

Customer Focus: Maintain a genuine customer focus, lead and coach the Leader on Duty program, model brand service standards, build customer loyalty, train management on customer resolution, and analyze feedback to improve results. Merchandising & Operational Execution: Set strategic direction for merchandise, maintain brand standards and multi‑brand guidelines, reduce loss, manage schedules and payroll, analyze assortment sell‑through, react to merchandising opportunities, and coach the team on merchandise handling. Business Management: Critically analyze KPIs, communicate business metrics, partner with peers and business partners, identify opportunities, and lead store teams to exceed sales goals.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED (minimum). Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Specialty retail experience strongly preferred.

Minimum of 5 years retail management experience. Experience leading direct reports. Experience managing multiple stores with high unit output.

Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills. Expertise in store systems and operational controls. Effective communication with customers, team, and supervisors.

Ability to lead, direct, and execute multiple tasks concurrently. Proficient with computer/technology (Outlook, Excel, web navigation). Physical Demands Lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

Stand or walk for long periods; climb ladders. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Commute between stores as required.

Travel as needed. Availability Requirements Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights. Minimum of two closing shifts per week.
