Nurse Analyst - Medical Law Services (MLS) Location: We work across England, with offices currently in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Southport. Hours: 35 hours per week (Hybrid – 2 days in the office a week, negotiable if needed). Purpose of Role To provide an assessment on the merits of a potential case depending on the initial information provided, advising on which medical records and additional documents are required to further determine the case prospects.
To complete a detailed review of the records, pagination and chronology and give opinion on the merits of the case if requested as part of the product. In return we offer 35 hours working week 35 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas Closure, with option to purchase up to 3 extra days’ holiday per year until long service award Pension scheme with tax‑efficient salary sacrifice option Life Assurance Policy Medicash policy to cover dental, optical and other medical expenses Company sick pay Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and IVF schemes Dedicat e Learning and Development team Flexible, agile working environment Varied calendar of funded company social events Monthly voucher awards for winning nominees Main Responsibilities Reviewing medical records and any other documentation relevant to the case Sorting and categorisation of medical records Preparation of Opinion of Merit (OOM) and chronology to assist the legal team with further investigations Preparing paginations in paperless format using suitable IT programmes, including evolving AI tools Undertaking necessary research in order to understand the medico‑legal elements of the case, including relevant professional guidelines Good understanding of GDPR to enable identification of such issues within the medical records Experience‑led progression towards competing Risk Assessment 1s. Essential Skills and Experience Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in NHS practice / clinical setting as a registered nurse Basic understanding of medical records Ability to prepare work to a high level of accuracy Ability to learn and adapt to new working environments Excellent communication skills and ability to disseminate information positively, with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work within a team both remotely and in person Highly motivated, organised, and proactive Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards Working knowledge of audits and interpreting the findings to improve/maintain practice Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience Familiarity with Microsoft and other software tools, e.g.
